What is THE adoption conference?
THE adoption conference is for the women of the adoption constellation, including adult adoptees, birth moms, and adoptive moms. THE adoption conference offers high-level education and opportunities for the adoption constellation to gather in the same room. If you have been seeking better ways to serve your family and the adoption community, or if you have felt stuck or like you need something more to support your family, this is the place for you.
Is this a faith-based conference?
THE adoption conference is not faith-based. We have a diverse range of speakers and attendees who will bring their own faiths, belief systems, and experiences. We welcome everyone.
Who can come to the conference?
Any woman 21 or older is welcome. We invite any woman who is part of the adoption constellation or an adoption ally. There will be dedicated breakout sessions for adoptees, birth moms, and adoptive moms.
Can I bring my kids, pets, or partner?
This event is for adults only, so no children under 21 will be permitted. No animals are allowed on the property or at the event. If your partner is a woman, you can both register! You can arrange to room together at registration. If your partner is not a woman, they can be included in 2027, when we open the event to all members of the adoption constellation.
What if I am considering adoption or have not adopted?
We welcome friends, allies, and prospective adoptive families. of the adoption constellation. The speakers, content, and support focus on women in the adoption community. THE adoption conference prioritizes education on all aspects of adoption. We do not take a stance on whether you should adopt. We do not offer referrals to adoption professionals.
Are CEUs available?
Continuing education credits are not available to professionals. If you were referred by your adoption agency, please contact your agency.
Can I come by myself?
Yes! Both onsite lodging options offer space to get to know other attendees or time alone, depending on what you are looking for. You are welcome to sit with us!
Is there a virtual option?
There is no virtual option. We strongly believe that in-person gatherings and community are important. We recommend many wonderful online resources, including those from many of our speakers. One of our goals at THE adoption conference is to build community. There will be no recordings.
What is the format of the conference?
The finalized schedule will be released closer to the conference date. Plan to check in between 3 and 5 PM on Friday, October 23. The event will finish by noon on Sunday, October 25.

Where is the conference?
THE adoption conference is in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, and is held at The Abbey at Otter Creek. All conference sessions and meals will be held in the lower level of the facility. Onsite lodging is available at The Abbey on the upper level of the conference facility and next door in the mansion.
